Peculiarities of breath holding tests in school age children

Objective of the study was to examine performance breath-holding and Ruffier tests, relationship between them other factors in healthy school age children.Material methods. The cross-sectional descriptive with 45 participants 7-13 years (22 boys 23 girls) performed. included assessment nutrition, physical activity habits, family socioeconomic data, resting anthropometric blood pressure measurements, pulse oximetry, tests for functional status cardiorespiratory system readiness child organism loading (Ruffier volitional hypoxic tests). Results. Rufier index most children average amounted 8.75±0.32 units. Test on inspiration at level 37.0±1.84 sec, exhalation - 22.2±1.3 sec. In low tolerance exercise during respiratory execution there were a decrease saturation changes heart rate. are based different physiological processes human body that create load tolerance: oxygen supply tissues.Conclusions. All selected could be executed anywhere short period time. They easy perform do not cause emotional reactions used assessment. results obtained complementary can recommended use complex when examining health screening types.
